How are those preserved lemons coming along? They should be getting soft and are ready to use! Today I’m going to share some easy ways to use those preserved lemons!
- CHICKEN: Since preserved lemons are traditional in moroccan cooking here’s a classic that you can cook at home! Moroccan Chicken with Preserved Lemons and Olives. Do you love the lemon pepper rotisserie chickens that you get from the grocery store? If so, then try this recipe for a super roasted lemon chicken!
- SALAD DRESSING: Next up-Salad dressings! Use preserved lemons as the acid in any of your favorite dressings. Don’t have a go-to dressing. Try this one from Canal House. It’s delicious!
- GRAINS: Preserved lemons can dress up any grain salad. Mince your preserved lemons or mix with the salad dressing above. I haven’t tried this recipe or this one but they both look terrific. One of my favorite Trader Joe’s staples is the harvest grains blend. I like to add a little minced preserved lemon to this simple side dish. If you are considering adding a squeeze of lemons to the grains go ahead and make it preserved lemons. You’ll like the end result.
- PASTA: You can’t beat a simple pasta dish with olive oil, garlic and preserved lemons. Here’s a recipe from the Smitten Kitchen that I make where I substitute the lemons for preserved lemons!
Let me know if you have any favorite ways to use preserved lemons. I’d love to find some new uses for a favorite ingredient of mine.
